Citations[edit]

I am going to contemplate whether the majority of this article should be comported to an archive as an annexure accessed from this talk page and start afresh with citations. It is unfortunate that those who iterated this article with such care have been so careless in the provision of their sources. Probity. I added citations from Foundations of Buddhism [Gethin 1998] for two claims in the introduction. The text, as written, seems very consistent with that text. Alex Amies (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 23:09, 12 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

http://dharmafarer.org/wordpress/ should point to http://www.themindingcentre.org/dharmafarer. This might be needed else where also hence it might be good to get a bot to do the URL change. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sirinath (talkcontribs) 14:48, 7 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Merging[edit]

I think the article Buddhist cosmolgy of the theravada school should be merged with Buddhist cosmology article as vertical cosmology section in Buddhist cosmology article is exactly same as the mentioned article, except for the format and some extra information, which can be added to this article while merging. Is it a good idea?JaMongKut (talk) 13:33, 10 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Support Theravada cosmology is not fundamentally different from the cosmology of the other schools. --2600:1700:6CB0:BCA0:E5EF:1DFD:3D25:2F97 (talk) 06:31, 14 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

ThankYouSoMuch. I think, many would also not have any problem. I'll try to merge them very soon. JaMongKut (talk) 12:14, 1 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I think there is very little in "Buddhist cosmology of the Teravada school" worth merging to "Buddhist cosmology"; the long quotes are not really helpfull. Joshua Jonathan -Let's talk! 05:38, 6 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Buddhist cosmology[edit]

Write formless devas in the article of arupadhatu devas instead of formless beings Joel binu (talk) 10:30, 1 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Chinese translation of terms[edit]

Based on a comparison with the Princeton Encyclopedia of Buddhism, I think the Chinese translation for the following two terms needs to be switched:

  • Sudarśana (Sanskrit: सुदर्शन; Pali: सुदस्सी, romanized: sudassī; Chinese: 善现天; ...
  • Sudṛśa (Sanskrit: सुदृश; Pali: सुदस्स, romanized: sudassa; Chinese: 善见天; ...

I don't read Chinese, so I will leave this to someone who does read Chinese. It is possible that the Princeton Encyclopedia is in error. Regards, Dorje108 (talk)
