NPOV

Way too much talk about one small issue (the homeless feeding ordinance) and it is clearly biased, most likely written by a member of the protest group. It's a forgotten and rarely debated issue anymore with downtown Orlando residents and employees. Mayor Dyer has plenty of more recent, relevant topics to discuss, such as the new arena, downtown development, etc. Doctorindy 20:57, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

NPOV

Actually, the "large group feedings" ordinance is easily the largest controversy that Dyer has faced outside of his arrest on absentee ballot fraud. Homelessness and issues related to it, such as local ordinances that criminalize it, are constant topics of discussion in the local media such as the Orlando Sentinel and still discussed and hotly debated by all Central Floridians, in downtown and out of it. Furthermore, measures such as the "large group feedings" ordinance are being driven by downtown development and gentrification. --Posted July 7 from 4.235.42.126

I disagree. I live in Orlando, and read the news all the time. I saw only a couple articles about this subject, a long time ago. I have heard and held plenty of conversations concerning Buddy Dyer, and not once has the homeless issue come up in those discussions (I work 3 blocks from City Hall). It is not still discussed often, definately not "hotly debated" by many, and definitely not "by all Central Floridians".

Also, this is supposed to be an article about a person, not a complete biography of the person. The subject deserves a small mention at most. Rhoadrunner 17:19, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

NPOV

Actually, homeless feedings was not anything in the eyes of citizens, just a little spat with college students who wanted to make a name for themselves. It was actually a distraction from the corruption in governentt that was and currently going on, which includes use of Tourist Tax money to build a NBA basketball court for Buddy Dyer and Richard Crotty to "enjoy".. They are both career politicians and very self centered individuals who have no concern for CRIME and citizens concerns. It is all about status and how much money special interest groups have to kick in to guide their decisions in matters.

Removed NPOV tag

I removed the statement that this was "one of the most controversial" issues (clearly it's controversial, but "most controversial" is POV) and changed the NPOV template in the article to a "fact" template. I hope you knowledgable Orlandians (Orlandites?) can add some references and other info.--orlady 16:50, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

NPOV

As an Orlando resident and a regular user of Wikipedia, I feel I must remind people on both sides of something: Wikipedia has a strict policy on Neutral Point of View (NPOV). While mentioning the "large feeding groups" ordinance is noteworthy, making most of the article an essay blasting him on it while ignoring all else done during his tenure as mayor is an NPOV violation. --Kitch (Talk : Contrib) 14:50, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

This article has also become the subject of an article regarding potential conflicts of interest by some of its editors.[1]. I removed a reference to this that was within the article because Wikipedia tends to avoid referencing the editing of an article within the article. I've posted it here because knowledge of this is relevant to future edits. In short - if you've got a conflict of interest with regard to the subject of this article, please do not edit this article. Post your ideas or suggestions on this talk page instead, and allow neutral editors to evaluate and implement your recommendations. Rklawton 10:41, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

OFNB

Let's also keep in mind that this article is about Dyer and not the group OFNB. Perhaps the OFNB information might fit well into some other article - but certainly not in a biographical article on Dyer. He's not even a member. Rklawton 19:59, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
