2019 lease revocation and current home

[edit]

In regard to an edit war currently going on regarding what the Beauts' current home is:

The sources cited both clearly state that any agreement to use HarborCenter has been terminated and that no new, superseding lease agreement has been procured, neither at HarborCenter nor elsewhere. Ergo, they do not, as of now, use HarborCenter, and should not be returned to being listed as such unless there is a new agreement. To say that they, in the present tense, play at HarborCenter is false, as the sources cited already state that 1) Pegula will not let them use that arena without a lease, and 2) there is no lease right now. If, and only if, there is a rental/lease agreement between the NWHL and PSE, should we continue to make that claim. They could end up back at HarborCenter, though most of the sources indicate that that might be unlikely at this point. They could play at the Northtown Center, where they're holding some offseason activities. Heck, the way things are going, the whole league could go kaput between now and the start of the season. We don't know. It's pure speculation in violation of WP:CRYSTALBALL to assume that an agreement will be signed at this point and until there is one, we should not assume that they currently use the facility. Ergo, the answer to the question of what the Beauts' arena as of now is technically, nowhere. So either "None" or "TBD" should suffice. J. Myrle Fuller (talk) 18:46, 24 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Similar to the Oakland Raiders not having a lease this past offseason, we do not change a home venue until it is directly stated. So that means there must be sources that say either A) The team will NOT be playing there (the only statement right now is they don't have a lease to play there, the league has previously indicated they wish to stay there and PSE has not said they cannot play there) or B) The team will be playing somewhere else (of which no entities have currently stated anything about the 2019–20 season venues). They are holding exactly one activity at Northtown, nothing else stated yet. Anything else fails Verifiability per Wikipedia policies. We are not speculating there will be a lease signed, we are just to present what is actually known. Yosemiter (talk) 19:01, 24 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

For historical purposes of this discussion, the league made an announcement on July 29 of the Beauts changing home venues, thereby providing a verifiable source and ending the dispute. Yosemiter (talk) 19:36, 9 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
