Penis Bulb

[edit]

Kobelt's naming the bulb of the penis as spongiosum penis "Georg Ludwig Kobelt named the bulb of the corpus spongiosum penis" is incorrect, as was Kobelt! "...named by Kobelt the bulb of the corpus cavernosum penis." Grays Anatomy page 1248. Grays Anatomy is the principle source for this article ie the source of the illustration, it is quite wrong to "correct" the source in this fashion. I changed the text back to "the bulb of the corpus cavernosum penis," which was the original text in 2006, and matches the Crus of penis article. "Cavernosum" was changed to "spongiosum" by an IP in 2008 and has been copied by sites and poor sources since. Flyer22 Reborn (talk) 22:39, 25 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
But there needs to be something in article about the corpus spongiosum, as is clear by the Corpus spongiosum article and sources on these topics. Some sources will state that the corpus spongiosum becomes the bulb of the penis. Others won't state this and will instead state that the bulb of the penis is homologous to the vestibular bulbs, or that the corpus spongiosum is homologous to the vestibular bulbs, or that the corpus spongiosum or bulb of the penis are homologous to the vestibular bulbs (employing the use of "or"), or that the bulb of the penis and corpus spongiosum are homologous to the vestibular bulbs (employing the use of "and"). The first sentence of the lead also needs work. Flyer22 Reborn (talk) 22:52, 25 November 2019 (UTC) Updated post. Flyer22 Reborn (talk) 22:57, 25 November 2019 (UTC) [reply]

1918

[edit]

Is an anatomy book from 1918 still state of the art? 46.114.142.192 (talk) 23:25, 3 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
