Edited the appearance of the word 'town' in this article to village, as technically Burnham is still a village even though it has been engulfed by Slough somewhat.

Are you able to provide a reference that states one way or the other? Because you can guarantee that in a couple of months time someone else will come along and say "this isn't a village, it's a town, obviously!" -- Roleplayer (talk) 17:29, 22 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
local usage is 'village', and this point is touched on in the introduction. I have a vague recollection (but cannot at this point source) that early references are to Burnham as a town, but with the loss of the market to Maidenhead and rerouting of the Bath Road, the terminology changes to village. Room for someone to do some referencing perhaps? Regardless, remember that there is no legal definition of what is a town / village / hamlet in England. Cities are different... Unsourced statements[edit]

Can anyone source that

- Burnham is a dispersed settlement

- Boveney is back in the civil parish

- Egypt, Buckinghamshire is also in the civil parish

These are in the article and currently unsourced, but don't tie up with my understanding. So I'll remove them unless someone can put me right!
