What possible relevance does the "How I came to live in Burnie" section have to anything? It should be removed immediately, it looks like either self indulgent rubbish or bad creative writing.

Frustrating[edit]

I can maybe cop removing some of the links, but why on earth "correct" capitalisations (Queenstown) and added "notables" (Lynch)?

Did you even read the changes before deleting them?

Quesion[edit]

I've noticed that edits changing the 'north west campus' of Utas to the 'Cradle Coast Campus' have been reverted in the past, why is this? The correct title for the campus is 'Cradle Coast' to the best of my knowledge.

Also, an edit stating the original inhabitants of the area that Burnie occupies was reverted, why was this?

Cradle Coast is either a very recent name-change or a "marketing" name for the area. It is still known as the north west coast to almost all Tasmanians. The edit about the original inhabitants was unsourced and contained no links to verify the content. Feel free to re-add it with an appropriate link though. Population[edit]

The figure of 20k seems a little deceiving. Other then being dated, it seems Burnie and Devonport (including surrounding areas) are now included as a single entity (or Statistical Division, SD) by the ABS. The population for this SD is around 80k. Does this mean the population for both Burnie and Devonport should be removed, as its unknown what population is located in Burnie only, as opposed to the SD (for example, like Kingston, which now has no popuation listed, and its value added to Hobart's)? -I Don't know why but the cradle part of cradle coast is from cradle mountain ("North west coast", "cradle coast")its dumb tho —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.177.23.151 (talk) 08:40, 5 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fifth Largest Container Port in Australia[edit]

This fact needs a citation as it doesn't seem true. Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Fremantle and Port Adelaide are all much much larger container ports. There's also probably some others that would sit above Burnie as well. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.49.69.44 (talk) 04:24, 23 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Burnie Burns[edit]

I suggest deleting the whole paragraph about "Burnie Burns of Rooster Teeth Productions." It's about some alleged dispute about a domain name, so isn't particularly significant for Burnie, the town. It's also basically just an advertisment for Burnie Burns and Rooster Teeth Productions, who are probably little known in Tasmania. The claim that "The town of Burnie also gained some notability" through the affair is completely unsubstantiated, since the only citations given are to Rooster Teeth's own productions. Actually, I'm going to delete it myself. The lack of 3rd party citations shows that it has no significance or credibility. Tangerine Cossack (talk) 23:41, 23 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

So a paragraph about Burnie Burns is back on this page. I'm going to remove it for the reasons above, if there are no objections. Danithoch (talk) 17:36, 22 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
