WPMILHIST Assessment

[edit]

This reads like a resume, or like the kind of bio you'd find in an "about the author" or something. At least half this stuff - like Gen Bell's college education, and perhaps some of the nitty-gritty details of every single position he's ever held - can be removed entirely. The first few sentences should tell the reader all s/he needs to know about the significance or notability of the subject (i.e. General Bell). LordAmeth 09:43, 27 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

disagree completely. This will eventually be more than a standard U.S. military bio, and a start for biographies in the future. They would want to discuss his activities at every level of command. Buckshot06 (talk) 23:02, 18 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest

[edit]

Just so this doesn't get lost, it appears that Bell is editing the article. User:Soldierforlife claimed to be editing his own article a the help desk and this is the only article he has edited. ~~ GB fan ~~ talk 13:59, 19 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I hope that by editing my own biography to ensure its accuracy, I am not creating any conflict of interest. All biographical entries that I make or correct are totally and completely 100% accurate and properly lay out my history of service to the nation. By making appropriate corrections I am ensuring the accuracy of my own biography. Thank you. General (Retired) B. B. Bell. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.32.101.66 (talk) 23:14, 6 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Military biographies which follow the format of this page closely are typically drafted by the individual and then published by their service. If anyone finds error in the biography, there are channels for addressing those concerns within that service. So, I would offer that Gen Bell's Biography as published by the US Army can be considered accurate and a source document for the biography posted here. That said, other *verifiable* information, would also be valid. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.22.104.17 (talk) 16:05, 29 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
