Coaster section[edit]

The roller coaster in this section is The Big Bad Wolf, one of the first suspended roller coasters. The park maintains that the coaster moves at the speed of fright, which has been clocked in the area of 40 mph. Some experts dispute this claim.

- The entire bolded part seems unfit for Wikipedia to me.

I certainly agree with you on the "some experts" part, which is vague and unsourced. I removed it in my edit. I kept the rest, but put the slogan part of the claim in quotes.Moonriddengirl 15:49, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Picture coming soon... I'll be up that way next weekend. Should I snag just a few pictures of the Main Gate... Perhaps a picture of each roller coaster? Matthew Glennon(Talk) 08:04, 17 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

New Coaster[edit]

Has Verbolten actually been announced as the official name for the 2012 coaster? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.15.158.153 (talk) 00:30, 20 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Not that I can see. I have removed (and will continue to remove) references to Verbolten until it has been officially announced by the park or reported by a reliable source. Themeparkgc  Talk  23:14, 17 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Critique an Article[edit]

Everything that was mentioned in this article was relevant to the topic and nothing distracted me, this article was well written and was full of reliable information from credible sources. While some of the information is out of date, most of it was current even with the addition of the new roller coaster InvadR coming in 2017. Some of the information missing is the updated years and dates for Europe in the Air and they also need to update the animal lists.

Questor (spelling?)[edit]

"Reliable sources" are political these days... You guys have totally forgot about Questor. I haven't paid much attention, but it was a moving floor, theatre type ride when I was very young. It had a steampunk/fantasy style to it complete with animatronics when you were waiting in the queue. It really seemed more like something you would encounter at Disney. I think got replaced with something else in the mid to late 90s or early 00s, and not sure what happened after that. My guess is that it got replaced with what is listed in the article as "Corkscrew Hill" based on the type. It was in a section of BGW called "Hastings" which I also do not see listed in the article.

Tone issue[edit]

An editor recently added an {{advert}} tag, raising a concern that this article may have an "contains content that is written like an advertisement". While I agree the tag may be warranted, I think the issue goes beyond advertising. Here are some examples:

  • The park remained closed until August 6, 2020, when they reopened, offering an all-new special event - Coasters and Craft Brews.[5] The all-new special event featured limited capacity, required advanced reservations and temperature screening of guests upon arrival, and select villages of the park. - "All-new" is promotional, as no one would say "partially new" or "all-old". But, more to the point, this is pretty specific detail for a single event.
  • Jack Hanna's Wild Reserve houses a variety of wild species including gray wolves and bald eagles. Busch Gardens is partnered with SeaWorld (also owned by SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment) in the SeaWorld & Busch Gardens Conservation Fund, which offers guests the opportunity to contribute to wildlife conservation. The Rhine River Cruise's boats are battery powered to cut back on power generation and prevent water pollution. In addition, Busch Gardens and Water Country USA both use insects rather than pesticides in the parks' commitment to organic gardening. All brochures, maps, show guides and all paper products in the restrooms are made from recycled material. - This unsourced paragraph merely strings various conservation-related details together, such as the park's wild species and the fact that maps and brochures are made of recycled material. I doubt if details like the latter are encyclopedic.

There are also sections in dire need of improvement. The "History" section is sorely lacking in detail, but in sections like "Oktoberfest", you get unnecessarily elaborate detail like On September 18, 2010, it was announced that in 2011, Oktoberfest would be renovated with new shops and sights including a new beer garden and pretzel shop known as Beste Brezeln und Bier with a Bavarian maypole occupying the flower garden in front of Das Festhaus, along with a 246-foot (75 m) drop tower called Mäch Tower. Also announced was a new "multi-launch" roller coaster that opened in spring of 2012 on the former site of the Big Bad Wolf roller coaster. On September 17, 2011 it was announced that the new coaster would be called Verbolten. On May 18, 2012, Verbolten officially opened to the general public..
