Hi @Air on White. May I know if you are the admin of this page? Just want to let you know we are the Communications team from Business Environment Council. My colleague (@Bec2024) has requested to update the board of directors information on this page and made the edits here accordingly for several times. Please find the official website here to verify the changes: https://bec.org.hk/en/node/1534. Would you please help unblock the account @Bec2024 and reinstate the previous updates that have been made? Much appreciated for your kind help. Alfred0328 (talk) 01:29, 19 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I am not an admin. You are strongly discouraged from editing this page as you have a conflict of interest. I have not reverted your updating of the board of directors as it seems legitimate, but the description of the net-zero program has been removed and will be removed as long as it is written in a promotional tone. Bec2024 cannot be unblocked because usernames on Wikipedia cannot represent organizations or companies—your best bet is to request a name change or to make a new account. Thank you, Air on White (talk) 01:54, 19 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I see. But the BEC Sustainable Consumption Programme is no longer in place. Instead, there is another major programme by BEC, which is the Net-zero Carbon Charter (https://bec.org.hk/en/bec-net-zero-carbon-charter#eid767). Shall I propose the edits as below?
"Net-zero Carbon Charter
To align with Hong Kong’s 2050 carbon neutrality goal, the rebranded Net-zero Carbon Charter, which was formerly launched as the BEC Low Carbon Charter in March 2019, aims to make a collective effort among businesses and organisations, urging them to set targets and actions for a net-zero future through a pledge. Under the framework of the Charter, BEC designs and hosts events and programmes to guide companies in formulating, executing, and achieving their objectives. As of June 2024, there is a total of 75 Charter Signatories, in which 20 are the Science-aligned Signatories, while the remaining 55 are Action Signatories." That seems acceptable. Air on White (talk) 08:06, 19 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks and I have updated accordingly. Alfred0328 (talk) 09:03, 19 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
