This article is in good shape. I have a few comments:

  • "executing two young sons of Ali's cousin and governor in Yemen" does this mean that Ali's cousin was also the governor of Yemen? If so, suggest making that clearer.
  • "Following Ali's death and the abdication of the latter'shis son Hasan in 661"
  • say what Ibn Hazim was in the context of this information, medieval historian? Also suggest putting his year of death after his name as you have done with others.
  • the naming and family information is confusing alright. Suggest "According to the medieval historian Ibn Hazm, Umayr Abi Artat was Busr's grandfather, and Busr's father's name was Artat."
  • "Busr was rewarded with 200 dinars"
  • "a campaign by Amr ibn al-As" as he's already been introduced and Amr has been used, there is at least one other example
  • the map caption needs (pink) and (green) after the names of the respective opponents
  • to subject→to subjugate
  • orientlaist→orientalist
  • After he's been introduced, Caliph Uthman→Uthman
  • link Asceticism
  • suggest "and the latter's brother and son, Yazid and Malik respectively."
  • suggest "slain the men and took captive the women"→"slayed the men and captured the women"
  • suggest "Busr retreated through through central Arabia to avoid Ali's relief troops in the the Hejaz"
  • the OCLC for Hitti is 958738109
  • the OCLC for Travaux et memoires is 243890056
  • Wellhausen is unused
  • File:First Fitna Map, Ali-Muawiya Phase.png needs information about what sources were used to create the map

That's me done, placing on hold for the above to be addressed. Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 07:59, 21 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
