Copyedit suggestions[edit]

  • clubs don't get founded into a division. A club might help found one though.
  • inferior divisions - "lower leagues."
  • 1957 until 1990 - this is quite literally the club's lifespan - not required.
  • sold due to lack of fan support - probably lack of attendance, not support.
  • Deportivo Anáhuac is notable - should be linked.
  • giving the club its first win and first goal ever - redundant.
  • sold to the Tigres - who?
  • so for the next two years the club was used as a reserve squad - this isn't a therefore thing - needs exploration
  • After tieing in first place in the league with Jaiba Brava del Tampico, they played a tie-breaking match in the Estado de Martinica, earning the Jabatos a place in the Liga MX, the highest division of Mexican football. - they weren't promoted by being in the playoff match...
  • Directed by Paulino Sanchez and Alberto Etcheverry, the Jabatos made their presentation in the First Division in the season again 1966–67, ending the season in sixth general place - translation is off here
  • That year they gained the first victory in Estadio Universitario in a match against Mexican national football team.[3] (The stadium was opened 30 of May 1967 with a tie between Monterrey and Athletic of Madrid, later the Jabatos tied 1–1 with Sheffield United.) - need to mention what the stadium is, and why they were playing the national team...
  • The club's prestige fell - why prestige?
  • . The club remained in the first division until the 1968–69 season, after playing a three game promotional tournament in the Estadio Azteca, 1–1, 2–2, and 1–0 in favor of the Club Oro. - they were relegated due to a promotional tournament??
  • The next season, the team bet on having well trained young players as the basic forces of the club. - delete.
  • The whole last para is pretty hard to read.
  • The stats need explaining. Why only the premier League information?
