I added the headings and eliminated the doubled up test. There isn't a Minty Alley entry as of now, but maybe there will be soon. DJ Silverfish 17:35, 31 May 2005 (UTC)

Writings on cricket

I added a section on Writings on Cricket which was immediately deleted, but I believe that doing this was a mistake.

James was a sports writer of the very first rank, while his political views (although important and interesting - and influential in various ways) are much less widely known. Most of the people who are likely to want to know more about CLR James are the millions of cricket fans, rather than the smaller number who are primarily interested in his politics. I therefore still think the CLR James entry requires a section on Cricket specifically - in fact a long and detailed entry would be necessary to do justice to James fame, ability and influence in this field.

In the interests of breadth and representativeness of coverage, I request that the entry on Writings on Cricket be restored - edited if necessary.

Removed Trotskyist box

It doesn't make sense to have this box appear on the top right of CLR James page, as if a political ideology that he later renounced were the major marker of his much more wide ranging intellectual life.

I've no problem with removing the box, but note that Trotskyism was a very important marker of his life - he devoted much of his time to Trotskyism for fifteen of the most productive years of his life. Warofdreams talk 18:05, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

Peter Drucker

Why the 'see also Peter Drucker' section? I can't see any obvious reason for this - the two figures seem very different individuals. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.131.219.232 (talk) 19:04, 1 September 2013 (UTC)

Citizenship

@Grueslayer: James returned to TT in 1958 and ran for Parliament on a WFP ticket in 1966, so I think it's safe to assume he was a TT citizen. Guettarda (talk) 22:58, 9 June 2019 (UTC)

Thanks Guettarda! Kind regards, Grueslayer 23:25, 9 June 2019 (UTC)
