How can we split C418's albums?[edit]

This is a minor issue with C418's discography. With other musical artists, it is easy to separate main studio albums from compilations from soundtrack albums (See Daft Punk discography as an example of this – imagine if they were all merged!). Whereas in Rosenfeld's case, even following the added descriptions of all of his work on his website ([1]), there is no definitive way of telling the album types apart. So at the present moment (26 March 2018), I have all of the albums in one section with no divisions.

Albums

  • Circle (2006)[note1]
  • Mixes (2008)
  • Zweitonegoismus (2008)
  • Bushes and Marshmallows (2009)
  • A Cobblers Tee Thug (with Smn) (2010)
  • Life Changing Moments Seem Minor in Pictures (2010)
  • Little Things (2011)
  • Minecraft – Volume Alpha (2011)
  • 72 Minutes of Fame (2011)
  • I Forgot Something, Didn't I. (2011)
  • Seven Years of Server Data (2011)
  • Catacomb Snatch (with Anosou) (2012)
  • One (2012)
  • Minecraft – Volume Beta (2013)
  • 0x10c (2014)
  • 148 (2015)
  • 2 Years of Failure (2016)
  • Dief (2017)

Now while this is technically correct –as they are all albums– it does present new readers with a frighteningly large summary of this discography article which is the vast majority of it, and the albums should be split in some way.

I had previously tried splitting the albums in this fashion, deciding what qualifies as a studio, soundtrack, or compilation album based on my opinion which is subjective and therefore not correct.

Studio albums
  • Mixes (2008)
  • Zweitonegoismus (2008)
  • Bushes and Marshmallows (2009)
  • Life Changing Moments Seem Minor in Pictures (2010)
  • 72 Minutes of Fame (2011)
  • 148 (2015)
  • Dief (2017)
Soundtrack albums
  • Circle (2008)
  • Minecraft – Volume Alpha (2011)
  • Catacomb Snatch (2012)
  • One (2012)
  • Minecraft – Volume Beta (2013)
  • 0x10c (2014)

The other albums are listed as compilations and collaboration albums

So how can we split his album discography? Or as the question may be: should we?

Upon looking at his Spotify profile, there are only six of his albums, a better summary of what could be considered "main studio albums". The rest could be listed as "Other albums", "Other Bandcamp albums" or "Other Bandcamp releases".

I would like to know what you think about the album split idea, if it should be done at all and if there are any better ideas for it. Thanks. Lazz_R 17:09, 26 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I have since performed the split; this maybe reverted if necessary Lazz_R 18:04, 28 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
