Hispano engines

[edit]

It would be good to know their type number, even though they were not much used. I suspect they were 12Mb, which had a notional 500 hp,and were the first of a new set of HS engines as required by the NACA account. Only the b variant was produced and we know the ones on the CAMS 54 were reduced, hence r. However, this is just OR unless we can finf a reliable source but I've run out of places to search.

We also don't know why the G&Rs were preferred, though it may be that as a new type there were questions about reliability. Les Ailes just says "for particular reasons"!TSRL (talk) 16:09, 26 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@TSRL: on the subject of engines, two or four? Was it a single engine driving two propellors, or two pairs driving a propellor each?
Thanks for that - the wording was confusing and I've clarified it, I hope. There was one pair of engines, one push, one pull, so two engines and two props.TSRL (talk) 09:36, 12 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
