Distinguish

[edit]

I clicked on a link referring to the Newton eBook (.pkg) and I came up with this protein stuff. Please correct it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.5.90.46 (talkcontribs) 2006-04-20T01:35:36

Comprehension issue

[edit]

I wonder if this article could be translated into English in the future —Preceding unsigned comment added by 218.250.138.98 (talk) 18:04, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Error?

[edit]

I believe the following line is incorrect: "Specifically, in smooth muscle tissue, PKG phosphorylates and activates the Myosin light chain kinase which phosphorylates the regulatory myosin chains, thus initiating smooth muscle relaxation." Phosphorylation of myosin results in smooth muscle contraction. There are two mechanisms of action for PKG resulting in relaxation of smooth muscle. 1) PKG phosphorylates potassium channels, increasing their open probability resulting in hyperpolarization of the smooth muscle cell, rendering it unable to contract. 2) PKG inhibits MLCK thus rendering it unable to phosphorylate myosin. I am unable to find suitable electronic-based references to cite so I am hesitant to make an edit on the page. 121.219.239.132 (talk) 07:03, 14 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Merger discussion

[edit]

The German article Proteinkinase G should be linked to the English article cGMP-dependent protein kinase.

I propose to merge the german articel from item Q106516947 into item Q24720987.

As this is interlanguage, this would not be a merge (we don't want to redirect the German page to the English one), but rather a template:Expand German. Merging Wikidata idems is done on Wikidata. Klbrain (talk) 11:01, 20 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
