Content is very outdated

[edit]

The content currently on the CIEE Wikipedia page is very outdated. The company has changed significantly since 2008 and added many new programs and countries of operation. Users affiliated with CIEE have tried to edit the page themselves, but keep getting blocked.

For example: For college-age students, CIEE administers more than 175 summer-, semester-, and year-long study abroad programs in over 40 countries worldwide. Each program promotes cultural immersion and exchange through a combination of direct enrollment at local universities, homestay and internships opportunities, and cultural excursions. In addition to traditional language and cultural study, CIEE provides a variety of discipline-specific programming in areas including Business, Engineering, Communications, Public Health, and Service Learning.

Writing the above keeps getting me blocked and I am forced to create a new account.

Please help update this content and make it accurate.

Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rmcd1986 (talkcontribs) 18:45, 13 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I've posted a message on your talk page which offers links to various Wikipedia policies. Those accounts were blocked because their names indicated that they had a clear conflict of interest and thus their edits were suspect. Wikipedia strives for neutrality. Promotional edits can also seem like advertising. You're free to edit anywhere else on the website that is not related to CIEE or study abroad. But because you indicated that you were the one who edited the page under usernames which were promotional, I'd stay away from those subjects. Paris1127 (talk) 20:17, 13 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
