Proposed redirect to Common Security and Defence Policy[edit]

I propose that this disambiguation page is redirected to Common Security and Defence Policy, as the Google hit stastistics are quite clear that this is by far the most common topic:

  • "Common Security and Defence Policy": 235,000 results
  • "Certified Software Development Professional": 18,400 results
  • "Czech Social Democratic Party": 26,500 results
  • "Conceptual schema design procedure": 1,180 results

Thoughts? - Ssolbergj (talk) 09:42, 27 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I've gotten no response here. I'll do the redirect. - Ssolbergj (talk) 19:37, 1 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 1 May 2018[edit]

CSDPCommon Security and Defence Policy – unnecessary disambiguation Ssolbergj (talk) 21:02, 1 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • This has no disambiguation though? If you want CSDP to redirect to Common Security and Defence Policy then youshould open a move request. --Emir of Wikipedia (talk) 21:20, 1 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
This is a contested technical request (permalink). 00:03, 2 May 2018 (UTC)--John Cline (talk)
Where can I propose such a move request? (I don't really understand why a redirect would constitute a 'move'). - Ssolbergj (talk) 08:05, 2 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
You can propose it here. I have canceled this move request as I can see it is malformed.--John Cline (talk) 08:26, 2 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, that's it. - Ssolbergj (talk) 10:04, 2 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
That is correct. There was a brief (lack of) discussion about this. As there was no opposition, and as I don't see a problem with this, I suggested opening an uncontroversial technical request, but we can do it this way. I'm going to do that now. Lithopsian (talk) 10:05, 2 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 2 May 2018[edit]

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: consensus to move the page and create a primary topic redirect from CSDP to Common Security and Defence Policy, per the discussion below. Dekimasuよ! 18:08, 8 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

CSDPCSDP (disambiguation) – This is to allow CSDP (disambiguation) to become the actual dab page instead of a redirect to here. Then this page will become a plain redirect to Common Security and Defence Policy which is overwhelmingly the most common page access out of the dab links. Lithopsian (talk) 10:08, 2 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support. Of the three potentially matching titles with articles, the acronym for the Czech Social Democratic Party is actually CSSD, not CSDP, and Common Security and Defence Policy is getting ten times the traffic of the one remaining possibility, Certified Software Development Professional. bd2412 T 01:15, 3 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT by traffic (as shown by bd2412) and by usage (I had to go four pages into a Google Books search before I found any hits not about the Common Security and Defence Policy). 59.149.124.29 (talk) 01:26, 3 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support I agree with the above. Ssolbergj (talk) 14:31, 3 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support the primary topic argument. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 10:03, 5 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
