IT would seem that there is an earlier use of the word "cadet" as a color, in 1897. The Sears catlogue of that year has, on page 231, advertisements for two shirts (item numbers 267 and 268) that feature "cadet" as one of the available colors in the stripes. No. 267 reads in part: "These shirts have attached collar and cuffs, breast picket, and double yoke back, white background with dainty contrasting stripes of light or dark blue, brown, pink and cadet." - A space-based military branch modeled after a naval force, such as the Imperial Navy in Star Wars and Starfoeet in Star Trek, both of which follow naval traditions of rank and command structure aboard interstellar spaceships. ISCC NBS[edit]
The Source for Cadet Gray, Star Command Blue, and Cadet all reference the NBS/ISCC Color System. After getting around the broken link, hat system does not contain any of these colors according to their list [1]. Jhmadden (talk) 22:28, 25 January 2019 (UTC)
