Name[edit]

Was a restaurant with this name previously in Paris? There are unrelated Cafe des Artistes in many cities: New Orleans, Cincinnati, Key West. I suspect they are all named for the same Parisian cafe. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.88.154.149 (talk) 23:12, 8 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I occasionally patronized the place in its last years.I heard Lang had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's(which he later died of) and decided to sell out while he could still get his own price.

He worked the dining room regularly,as an old-fashioned host should. One night he was passing out free samples of a new wine with the undignified name of "Bull's Blood"----I loved him from that day on.

Restaurant also famous for an enormous dessert buffet table that was in the center of the main dining room. Late in the game,it was done away with for sanitary reasons. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.23.5.11 (talk) 18:55, 15 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
