Talk:California's 23rd congressional district

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This page demonstrates how little the district shares with its former enumerated and redistricted incarnations. It's still Bill Thomas's old 20th District (& 18th and 21st, to a lesser extent) with a core in Bakersfield and stretching east to the San Bernardino and Inyo county lines, as well as encompassing southeast Tulare County. McCarthy in fact was a former aide to Bill. The Central Valley and desert district is the political mirror opposite of the coastal district which used to be the 23rd. It's cotton, oil, military and international mining giant Rio Tinto. Activist (talk)
