Endemic fauna correction[edit]

Removed Mountain Lion from list. According to the linked article, even the local subspecies of North American Cougar isn't endemic to California. --Justin 16:29, 3 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Defining the California Floristic Province[edit]

The California Floristic Province is defined in various ways by different authors and sources, often depending upon the reason for using floristic provinces. The broadest definitions of the Mexican Highlands Floristic Province could include all of Mexico's Madrean Pine-Oak Woodlands, and thus the CFP will border part of that MHFP. Yes, the Sonoran FP includes the other deserts. I am not sure of a good way to get this information across, the ambiguities and differences, while still providing the primary information of the article about endemic taxa of the region and their relationships to endemic taxa of adjoining regions, other than by strictly adhering to specific sources. However, the other Wikipedia articles on Takhatajan's and Good's regions are also inadequately sourced and lack specifics. This was merely a way to start.
