Coordinate error

[edit]

{{geodata-check}}

The following coordinate fixes are need for

the longitude is a little bit confusing for the minus or West in degrees/minutes/seconds coordinates >>

however the decimal coordinates do not depend on the West or East the coordinates are: 36.915833, -4.772778 +36° 54' 57.00", -4° 46' 22.00"

no Declined — The current coordinates appear to point to about the correct location and I don't think that you are saying that they do not. I think that you're saying that you prefer the use of negative marks (-) rather than West (W) labels. Coordinates are posted via the {{coord}} template and there's no provision for displaying -'s instead of W's in that template. If you would like to suggest that it be added, you can post your suggestion at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Geographical_coordinates. Contradiction

[edit]

The opening paragraph states "the walkway was reopened in September 2014." - yet the final paragraph states "It is scheduled to open in February of 2015" - so which is it ?

'The name is often shortened to Camino del Rey (King's Pathway)'

[edit]

'El Caminito del Rey (The King's Little Pathway) is a walkway, pinned along the steep walls of a narrow gorge in El Chorro, near Ardales in the province of Málaga, Spain. The name is often shortened to Camino del Rey (King's Pathway)"

This neither makes sense nor is it accurate. 'Caminito'- while two letters longer, is the diminutive of 'Camino.' It is like saying 'Johnny' is often shortened to 'John.' During the 20th century, the walkway was known as 'el camino del Rey,' but was nicknamed - and shortened to- 'el caminito', an ironic diminutive, referring both to the drama of its setting and the challenge of attempting to walk it, given its increasingly dilapidated state.

Since being renovated and re-opened as a tourist attraction, the original name and the nickname have been conflated, apparently for marketing purposes. JF42 (talk) 17:23, 28 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ozark

[edit]

THe reference to a character in the tv drama 'Ozark is not relvant. The term'Camino del rey' has separate history in Mexico. I'll excise it. JF42 (talk) 08:17, 8 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
