Spongebob References

WHILE SIMILAR, CAMP LAZLO DOES NOT USE THE SAME SOUNDTRACK AS SPONGEBOB. PROVEN. STUDIED. CONCLUDED. END OF DISSCUSION. -- Enchantz 30 July 2007

While the article needs much cleaning up in general one of the most notable problems is the overabundance of references to SpongeBob Squarepants. While the two shows are in the same genre and have similar characters it isn't right for there to be such an abundance of references to SpongeBob, especially when they are written assuming that everyone who reads this article also watches SpongeBob. There are surely a few people who have or will read this article who have never seen an episode of SpongeBob (and there's an off chance that someone who reads this will never have even heard of the other program.) --Ryuukuro 04:24, 29 August 2005 (UTC) Agreed. Rocko's is from the same person, so it should be kept. But delete the SB part. If we keep that, we'll have to add an part about Coconut Fred, Ed, Edd, and Eddy, etc. See what I mean? Wizrdwarts 17:54, 18 April 2006 (UTC) I hate to be the one to tell you this but Steven Hildenburg, SpongeBob creator was the former director of the fourth season of Rocko's Moderen Life when Joe Murray had family issues and had to be away he asked Hildenburg to take the show. Unfortunatley it only lasted so long because was put on Hiatus after Hildenburg's new management. Obviously if there's any SB reference it's because the two are friends and share the same style of humor, I wouldn't label this as a problem rather a professional inside joke. Jak-Esz:Lazlo uses the same soundtrack of sponge bob.Just try to pay attention at the songs and you will know they are the same songs of spingebob.

OBJECTION!

I know this isn't a courtroom, but I would like to object to this matter, for I am supposed to be the #1 FAN of Camp Lazlo. This is going to be a VERY long story, so let's explain this simply.

When I first watched Camp Lazlo, I had to go to http://www.cartoonnetwork.com/tv_shows/camplazlo/index.html and take the Which Cabin Are You In? quiz. I answered all the questions and they said that I'll be across the lake in the Squirrel scout Cabin! Then I had to spend time with them so they and I could listen to classic TV theme songs, tell them their life stories, and many other things.

Then I went to this website to see the Camp Lazlo article, and I found out that its characters are like that of Spongebob Squarepants. This can't be the case because of the following reasons: 1. Spongebob Squarepants is NOT set in a camp, although there was an episode when he has gone camping, and it is shown in a different TV network. 2. I absolutely dislike SpongeBob because I think he is offensive, ugly, and furthermore, he can be an eyesore to look at. 3. Lazlo is less offensive and is many times better than Spongebob. 4. I think Spongebob Squarepants should be cancelled once and for all!

The one day I went to the Camp Lazlo forums and I had learned that the characters are in their teens. I believe that the Bean Scouts are probably in their late 30s and early 40s. The Squirrel Scouts are primarily in their 30s. The Scoutmasters were born in the 1940s.

I announced in late September 2005 that Lazlo, Raj, Clam, Patsy, Gretchen, and Nina were to get married. Their wedding took place October 8, 2005.

I created these episode ideas because I wanted to keep Camp Lazlo alive for many years, and for its popularity to increase. These episode ideas are absolutely, positively, and unconditionally NOT vandalism! It is a good faith effort to improve this article, and is a part of keeping this TV series alive for many years, and that is my reputation, and it is ruined! I rest my case. -- 206.255.186.75 0:15, 1 December 2005 (UTC)

You, my friend, have been reading the worst fandom ever. Do you expect us to believe this junk? --Plainnym 20:55, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

By the way, if you or any writers suggest possible plotlines, the producers will be forced to not use anything even close to them, in fear you'll sue them for stealing their ideas. -- user:zanimum

Objection overruled

Whoever was bringing up episode ideas was getting really annoying. Like it was stated, Wikipedia is a site for actual and true info, not some fan's musings and ideas. If you want to keep Camp Lazlo "alive" then go create a fansite for it. Not list meaningless info. Whoever was doing this now sadly has made the page unaccesible to edits. Thanks a lot you sorry idiotic loser. And wrong, once something gets deleted by one of the members or whomever and the article kept getting tagged then it IS vandalism. Plain and simple.

Let's keep it civilized, here, folks. No need for namecalling. Now, in response to the "#1 FAN" who wrote the impassioned objection above, yes, by all means make yourself a personal community-based Camp Lazlo webpage and gather your episode ideas and video game ideas there. Wikipedia is dedicated to the factual, and is not an appropriate venue for fan fiction. You may have genuinely thought you were doing the show a service by repeatedly posting episode ideas, but it was actually undermining the efforts of those who wanted to keep the article clean, readable, and a reliable source of information for the show. Please take this into consideration before adding information to the Camp Lazlo article (or any other Wiki article) in the future.--Dwhyer 05:03, 3 December 2005 (UTC)

That poster is back with the ideas >< He/she is completely taking advantadge of Wikipedia's rules and article laws!! This may have to be locked up for good. Geez, this person has no life.

I have sent in 4 video games ideas to Joe Murray. Is it okay if I post them on the article page?

No. This article is supossed to contain only FACT. Please post them somewhere else other than this article.--TheLH 13:58 30 December 2005 (UTC)

Where should I put them?

Anywhere except Wikipedia. Make a fansite about it or something, send a letter to the producers. It is not wanted on Wikipedia. J.J.Sagnella

I deleted Camp Lazlo/DM. I don't think it exsit.

Is this an episode idea or is it real? Father's Day / Soccer Day?

Squirepants101 23:15, 8 March 2006 (UTC)

If it is an actual episode, it has not aired, if that's what you're asking. Enchantz 30 July 2007

I dought it because they already did Parent's Day.

Added Quoets From Seleted Episodes

I have put Quoets from some of the episode articles to this one. This will make finding quotes for CL easy. Please do NOT add Quoets from fake episodes.

I deleted the quotes section. This is material for Wikiquote, and who wants CL quotes, anyway? -- PinkDeoxys 22:08, 23 March 2006 (UTC)

Innuendo Removal

I think it should be removed personally… And some of them are just plain ridiculous too, I can cite some later to prove it too. --FlareNUKE 07:57, 6 May 2006 (UTC)

I agree. I think they're all really stretching the whole thing a bit much. I mean, a hug being innuendo?! Shakes alive, people, it's a HUG! Witchcraft from a mop? Zoophilia in a world where EVERYONE'S an Animal? Between an animal and a TREE?! God, people, it's a joke, not innuendo. "The planets aligning" is a joke, not a cult reference.

Not everything's got to be dirty or scandalous, you know. --Alex 16:31, 6 May 2006 (UTC)

Yeah. If you count stuff like that for innuendo, then a looooooooooooot of shows would be considered to have it. --RandomOrca2 16:55, 6 May 2006 (UTC)

Yeah this is too much. I know this article keeps getting tagged and stuff. It's kind of annoying that some fanboy/girl is doing this and ruining what's supposed to be just facts about the show and not these made up episodes/innuedos. This probably needs to be locked.

i agree that the innuendos need to be removed. most of them are pretty rediculous.

So since everybody agrees, should I remove it? --FlareNUKE 12:36, 10 May 2006 (UTC)

But I guess it's dumb now so I'm leaving it off. Plainnym

I know a hug is not horrible but why are they animals if they can walk, talk, and read like humans? Are they humanoid or something?

Because it's a cartoon and is entirely fictional, it does not have to be set up like real life. --FlareNUKE 02:31, 15 May 2006 (UTC)

Here's what I don't get. How could the tree have children if she wasn't an animal or a human? It's not zoophilia, it's more like....tree-philia. Anyway, it sounds kind of wrong (and impossible) to do that.

Is someone gonna answer me? I posted that above comment about a week ago.

Simple, like I said… It's a damn cartoon, It does not have to make sense.--FlareNUKE 05:42, 3 June 2006 (UTC)

Okay.........I guess it doesn't. Oh yeah; don't cuss anymore, ok?

I won't post another one up unless something really bad happens on the show, like something that mentions sex or something. (Plainnym 14:27, 7 June 2006 (UTC))

Someone added the innuendo back, but this time it's sexual. Is everyone fine that it's back or do any of you want it to be deleted. Squirepants101 23:19, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

I kind of don't mind with it. It would be still monitered and if in case, it can be later deleted. --esanchez, Camp Lazlo fan! 00:18, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

Lazlo in Rocko's Modern Life?

In the contrasting Camp Lazlo and Rocko's Modern Life section in this article, it says that Lazlo was in the parade in Floundering Fathers, only Lazlo was female and was wearing white and green clothes. Should that be even in there? Squirepants101 16:37, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

camp lazlo do you like it or not?---------------------------

I don't like camp lazlo, it bores me and lazlo is an idiot.

Uh, oh well if you hate this show that's ok but if you like that's also ok but i don't really care anyone's opinion on ths show. (Glass of water 02:25, 12 July 2006 (UTC))

Lazlo and Rocko's Modern Life are created by the same man, Joe Murray.

More Phony Episodes

Someone keeps submitting unconfirmed episodes in this article including Xiaolin Spider. Can someone remove it? Squirepants101 15:46, 6 August 2006 (UTC)

Peer Review

The following suggestions were generated by a semi-automatic javascript program, and may or may not be accurate for the article in question.

  • Please expand the lead to conform with guidelines at WP:LEAD. The article should have an appropriate number of paragraphs as is shown on WP:LEAD, and should adequately summarize the article.[1]
  • Per WP:WIAFA, Images should have concise captions.[2]
  • Per WP:CONTEXT and WP:BTW, years with full dates should be linked; for example, link January 15, 2006, but do not link January 2006.[3]
  • Per WP:MOS#Headings, headings generally should not repeat the title of the article. For example, if the article was Ferdinand Magellan, instead of using the heading ==Magellan's journey==, use ==Journey==.
  • Generally, trivia sections are looked down upon; please either remove the trivia section or incorporate any important facts into the rest of the article.
  • There are a few occurrences of weasel words in this article- please observe WP:AWT. Certain phrases should specify exactly who supports, considers, believes, etc., such a view. For example,
    • apparently
    • might be weasel words, and should be provided with proper citations (if they already do, or are not weasel terms, please strike this comment).[4]
  • Watch for redundancies that make the article too wordy instead of being crisp and concise. (You may wish to try Tony1's redundancy exercises.)
    • Vague terms of size often are unnecessary and redundant - “some”, “a variety/number/majority of”, “several”, “a few”, “many”, “any”, and “all”. For example, “All pigs are pink, so we thought of a number of ways to turn them green.”
  • This article needs footnotes, preferably in the cite.php format recommended by WP:WIAFA. Simply, enclose inline citations, with WP:CITE or WP:CITE/ES information, with <ref>THE FOOTNOTE</ref>. At the bottom of the article, in a section named “References” or “Footnotes”, add <div class="references-small"><references/></div>.[5]
  • The article will need references. See WP:CITE and WP:V for more information.
  • Please ensure that the article has gone through a thorough copyediting so that it exemplifies some of Wikipedia's best work. See also User:Tony1/How to satisfy Criterion 1a. [6]

You may wish to browse through User:AndyZ/Suggestions for further ideas. Thanks, Squirepants101 16:41, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

Lead

I've read the lead to this article and it barely talks about the plot of the show. The only thing I can find in there that had to with the show's plot was this: "The show features a Boy Scout-like summer camp with a cast of all animal characters." I think someone should add more about the plot. Does anyone agree with me? Squirepants101 21:52, 7 October 2006 (UTC)

Template

I've created a template to group Camp Lazlo articles together (Template:CLnav). Is there anything I can do to improve the template? Squirepants101 22:12, 22 October 2006 (UTC)

For one, you might want to fix one part. Credit for Steve Little, since it directs to the boxer, not the voice actor. Use this link: Steve Little

Trivia

Some tagged the trivia section of this article with the toomuchtrivia template. I don't think we can integrate the trivia into the article itself. Instead, why not make more episode articles (I think is the best choice) and put the trivia there or the episode list article should be more like List of Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends episodes, where there is some trivia in each entry. Anyone agree? Squirepants101 12:30, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

A Hard Day's Sampson ending

I recall a joke during the ending of A Hard Day's Sampson, when Sampson was ODing on his "Health Buddies". They had a variety of fake warnings about what could happen if you misuse the "Health Buddies" in the same way as Sampson. One of them said a side effect could be "Increased Murfing". I think that joke should be mentioned in the reference to the ending of A Hard Day's Sampson, since it's pretty funny. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.13.219.137 (talk) 11:47, 16 October 2006 (UTC).
