censorship[edit]

Opinion piece on AlJazeera claims Camp de Thiaroye was banned in France for a decade and censored in Senegal as well. Book mentions the ban in France and supports the ten year period. 27.33.43.226 (talk) 08:06, 13 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • So why not put this directly into the article?Frombelow (talk) 09:29, 14 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
    • It's just the way I choose to use Wikipedia these days. I make small fixes when I see obvious problems but for content changes I prefer to raise the issue on a talk page and let those interested edit or ignore at their discretion. 27.33.43.226 (talk) 03:03, 18 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Controversy[edit]

Sembene's film preempted Boubacar Boris Diop project for a film on the same subject and took funds that would otherwise have gone to Diop's movie. This caused much bad blood between Sembene and Diop and was another reason why the film was controversial. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.162.253.101 (talk) 20:37, 26 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
