Merge

[edit]

Propsed merge to add this information to the Campbell County, Virginia page. Nothing notable here, list of schools could be off use and add value to the county page rather than on an island out here on its own. -- Lucas20 (talk) 21:53, 2 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think you could add this information to a table and give a little info in the table about it. Visit High Schools In Angus for an idea on how to do it. If you need any help just ask. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Andrewmc123 (talkcontribs) 16:50, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Clarify? Add this table to the County page? Not sure if it takes the article beyond 'directory' information, which is necessary but not sufficient for an article. -- Lucas20 (talk) 16:53, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Oh well, it was only a suggestion. If you were thinking about it, it could work like this:
School Location Catchment Area Roll Gender External link
Altavista Elementary School ??? ??? ??? ??? (Website Name)
Altavista Combined School ??? ??? ??? ??? (Website Name)
Obviously you could add more columns or remove colums to what is appropriate Andrewmc123 (talk) 18:07, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
This may be of use to place onto the merged page, but not to sustain the page itself. Others may have input on this though. Leaving merge proposal tag in place so more comments can be generated. -- Lucas20 (talk) 18:30, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Disagree with merger

[edit]

It is generally best to keep school district articles and county articles separate. The boundaries may not coincide, for one thing, and districts often have their own history distinct from the county or municipality that they serve. At this point, the article is a stub, and stubs are harmless. As long as Campbell County Public Schools is listed in Category:School districts in Virginia, there is a chance that the article can be expanded. For that matter, if the school district were to add some enrolment statistics to its web site, the article could be expanded with that information. -- Eastmain (talk) 03:20, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

First two sentences are moot. Nothing mentioned would give notability to the article. "...and stubs are harmless" is a gross generalization, I tend to disagree with. -- Lucas20 (talk) 11:48, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I think that this page should be left as it is. I also agree with Eastmain that school articles and county articles should be kept separate. Andrewmc123 (talk) 20:53, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
