Cultivar name & exclusivity

[edit]

I've come across a source here which claims to have researched the specific cultivar name of this tulip, and which casts into doubt various claims that it was bred specifically for Canada 150. The source itself is a blog but has provided references to other sources which are probably reliable and which back up its claims. I was looking around because the idea of a tulip cultivar specifically bred for a celebration and sold with worldwide exclusivity at one national chain of hardware stores seemed incredibly promotional, especially since that retailer is already claiming "imposters" on the market, and the NCC and Home Hardware sources used here certainly don't ease that feeling. This page ought to be edited for factuality and neutrality, and I'll dive into it later when I have more time if someone doesn't beat me to it. Just create a separate section in the article. You cannot cite a blog. IQ125 (talk) 17:09, 18 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
