Assessment

[edit]

I have assessed this as Start Class, as it provides more detail and organization than would be expected of a Stub, but it still a great deal more prose. I have assessed this as mid importance, as it has a strong, but not vital, role within Canada. Cheers, CP 23:13, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

new category suggestion

[edit]

I was reading about the legacy of the venues from the Canada Games and thought it would be good to have a category to highlight them. Category:Canada Games Venue . Any suggestions? --Coppercanuck (talk) 18:26, 25 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

2005 Summer Games were not televised, they were on strike that year so the communities did not get to see the athletes and highlights included Krista Betts winning the first gold medal ever for Women's Wrestling but there was hardly any news about it, so I wish someone who is in the sport could enlighten us about 2005 events. Krista's notes have been added to her home community, Weldford Parish, New Brunswick Thanks Wild Heart of Kent (talk) 12:29, 18 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sports in games by year

[edit]

The listing of Canada Games sports doesn't indicate which years each sport was included. I know that racquetball was a Canada Games Winter Sport in the past. I know it was in the Brandon games, the Saguenay-Lac St. Jean games, and the PEI games. It would be good to have that acknowledged here. Trb333 (talk) 04:10, 8 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Notable athletes

[edit]

I was thinking of adding a notable athletes section in each Canada Games quadrennial article. This section would include athletes who have gone on to compete for Canada on one of their national teams and would be mandatory for those names to have a Wikipedia article. There are generally at least one or two athletes in either athletics or swimming who meet this criteria. I am not sure if this would violate Original Research but I would be happy to hear people's thoughts. The other option would be to just Wikilink the names of those notable athletes.
