Talk:Canadian Senators Group

Today, two different IP editors have tried adding Liberalism/Conservatism and Liberal Conservatism to the Ideology attribute to the Canadian Senators Group, without providing a citation saying that these ideologies were official ideologies of the parliamentary caucus in the Canadian Senate.

The first editor did not provide an edit summary. Finally, the second IP editor claimed, in their edit summary, that because some of the group's Senators may have supported legislation or proposed legislation supported by the Conservatives, that that's enough to justify adding Liberal Conservatism or Conservatism as this group's ideology. I wholeheartedly disagree, so have reverted the edits, which I assume were in good faith, and have now initiated this RFC to establish consensus that this was the correct approach. Otherwise, we'll have to start applying unofficial political ideologies to similar parliamentary caucuses such the Independent Senators Group.

To non-involved closing editor: Please ensure you close this with RfC with the optional top/bottom tags when consensus can be assessed. Thanks. --Doug Mehus (talk) 02:13, 7 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

RockingGeo, Thanks. For clarity, by "what was done," you mean the reverting the unsourced material, right? Doug Mehus (talk) 15:14, 7 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
