deselected labour mps[edit]

should we include deselected labour mps (e.g. sam tarry) in the list of mps who are standing down? most don't seem likely to contest their seats as independents either SteveTempleton (talk) 06:46, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Withdrawn candidates[edit]

Do we include in the section for candidates withdrawing those who do so when their party endorses an independent candidate? The WPB has done this in Bethnal Green and Stepney and Chingford and Woodford Green and possibly elsewhere. References are in the Endorsements page Jontel (talk) 22:23, 5 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Party number discrepancies[edit]

As well as the below, the numbers look wrong for several other parties. The figures look too low for the Alliance Party of Northern Ireland and for the SDLP. Bondegezou (talk) 21:47, 8 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I have fixed all the numbers now, from a source that falls under the same license as Wikipedia. I think I manually checked the Northern Irish ones yesterday. Eastwood Park and strabane (talk) 18:32, 9 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Workers Party[edit]

It seems that the number of candidates for the Workers Party of Britain may be lower than announced. In Paisley and Renfrewshire North, the party announced a candidate, but there is no Workers Party candidate in the actual vote. Eastwood Park and strabane (talk) 19:09, 8 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This page shows 153 - basically the same as the 152 on here. https://workerspartybritain.org/elections-2024/
It doesn't include the candidate that was removed from the Paisley and Renfrewshire North seat. That number is likely accurate. Eastwood Park and strabane (talk) 19:26, 8 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Official Monster Raving Loony Party[edit]

The Official Monster Raving Loony Party have their candidates listed here - https://www.loonyparty.com/ One candidate is listed for East Kilbride. The constituency is actually called East Kilbride and Strathaven. The named candidate is not actually on the ballot paper. Eastwood Park and strabane (talk) 19:44, 8 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Page that contains all the numbers[edit]

There is a webpage here https://democracyclub.org.uk/blog/2024/06/08/2024-uk-general-election-candidate-summary/ that contains all the numbers for each party. I don't know if it's a good idea to just copy all the data from there though. Eastwood Park and strabane (talk) 20:06, 8 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
