In popular culture[edit]

If appropriate, this article could include a reference to Mario Puzo's "The Godfather." In that work, various characters describe others as "pezzonovante" - apparently a slang contraction of dialect "pezzo da novanta," meaning "piece of 90." The implication is "big shot" - in some cases ironic or mocking. This is apparently a reference to the article's 90/53.
