I disagree with the deletion of my addition of Clif Croce to the list of notable alumni. This deletion does not assume good faith on my part.

Croce is a notable counter cultural figure on Cape Cod, primarily as a musician since 1979. Croce, as lead singer and the creative force behind Cape Cod punk band The Freeze, certainly meets Wikipedia's musician notability standards, including the volume of material published.

Cape Cod locations and culture are prominent in many of Croce's and the band's material, including their most popular songs. Their first single "I Hate Tourists" earned the band a spot in WBCN's annual band competition and the ire of many civic leaders on the Cape. "Violent Arrest" discusses an incident at Hyannis' renown (now closed) "Mill Hill Club". "American Town" discusses the options (or lack thereof) for youth in towns and ex-urban areas. In particular, Croce's work often reflects the feelings of boredom and hopelessness felt by many permanent residents of Cape Cod (so-called "year-rounders").

Also, the band's last original release ("One False Move") in 1999 featured cover artwork by notable Cape Cod artist Edward Gorey. This artwork came as a result of a Croce's and Gorey's friendship.

The Harvard of the Middle Cape

The article claims that's a nickname for the school. Googling the phrase leads only to this wiki article, and various sites that have copied it. If no citation can be found, that nickname should be removed for lack of support. Downfall2209 (talk) 19:30, 28 December 2008 (UTC)

Somebody mysteriously edited it back in with no cite. The IP traces to-- surprise!-- Boston. Reverted it back. If you want to add Harvard of the Middle Cape, please cite. If it happens again and there's no cite, I'll request semi-protection. Downfall2209 (talk) 23:31, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

I've removed again. To the anonymous editors replacing the nickname: things like "common knowledge" and "true Cape Coders know" mean nothing here - facts must be backed up by citations. If this is a proper nickname, then it must be found in the media someplace and can be referenced, as per verifiability. Tony Fox (arf!) 17:02, 27 February 2009 (UTC)
Someone seems to be bored, and is doing this again. Keep it up, and I'll semiprotect the article. Tony Fox (arf!) 22:04, 29 June 2010 (UTC)
Harvard of the Middle Cape has been part of this article since October of 2007, an eternity in Wikitime.[1] Innumerable Cape Codders and actual 4Cs students have seen the page with HoMC and have not complained. The only people who seem to care are button pushers and the socks of button pushers who live thousands of miles away. They're the same sort of busybodies who keep trying to take F**k Truck out of the article Wellesley College Senate bus. Basta! 72.93.124.179 (talk) 20:50, 3 June 2011 (UTC)
If you can provide a reliable source for your edit, then your edit can stay. Otherwise its considered vandalism, and if you continue to add it without a source you will be blocked. Karl 334 TALK to ME 20:56, 3 June 2011 (UTC)
