Contested deletion

[edit]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because... The band has shown significant importance and growth on 1.their facebook page (80,000 likes plus being scheduled to play a major tour with a band that has 400,000 fans on facebook and over 50,000,000 views on Youtube videos[1] [2] ), and undoubtably 2. on thier YouTube page with almost 5 Million views on just 4 songs within 8 months.[3] The group is also in talks with record companies acording to thier facebook. --Shepherd1116 (talk) 17:56, 22 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Capture The Crown requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Shepherd1116 (talk) 18:19, 22 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion

[edit]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because it provides fans of this band with a constant source of reasonable credibility to keep up with this particular band with. This band does not have an extremely large following and any added resource to help trace current events surrounding the band is greatly appreciated. So I feel, blatantly, that this article should remain an entity on Wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.38.50.253 (talk) 21:41, 22 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The purpose of an article is not to provide fans w credibility. That is wholly antithetical to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia. Subjects of articles should be notable with significant coverage in reliable 3rd party sources not connected w/ the subject. Dlohcierekim 22:43, 22 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
