What has happened to his voice?

[edit]

Am I the only one who has noticed how different he's sounded the past few weeks (summer 2007)? Has he had surgery? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.20.129.255 (talk) 11:04, August 1, 2007 (UTC)

I agree that it sounds "clearer" and quite a bit less "thick" than in previous years. I used to be able to do a very good voice impression, but it isn't as accurate now. 165.176.7.3 (talk) 16:46, 30 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Rehabilitation of reputation

[edit]

The sound engineers at NPR screwed up his last newscast, and I'm trying to add a sentence noting that the screwups weren't his fault, being due to technical difficulties beyond his control, but another editor keeps deleting it.

Here's the source file: http://podcastdownload.npr.org/anon.npr-podcasts/podcast/500005/122053466/npr_122053466.mp3

I think that taking the discussion to the community would be better than having an edit war, so I'm going to stop editing and instead ask for comments here.

Thank you for avoiding an edit war. How about waiting until a reliable source gives this event significant coverage before inserting it into the article? It sounds like trivia. --Omarcheeseboro (talk) 17:06, 30 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Citing a Broadcast

[edit]

I added the bit about Carl being voted into the Radio Hall of Fame, but I wasn't quite sure how to cite the radio broadcast. The link goes to the transcript, but if you all could help clean that sentence up a bit I'd appreciate it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pjthepiano (talkcontribs) 21:27, 13 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Marriages

[edit]

The article currently only mentions his second marriage. His first first Wife Clara Kassell died 1999

The appreciation by Peter Sagal just aired on Morning Edition (just before the hour) : "He was a devoted and loving husband to his first Wife Clara Kassell who passed away right before I met him" (which he earlier mentioned was in 1999) Fholson 12:17, 18 April 2018 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Fholson (talkcontribs)
