Use brother's article to improve this one?[edit]

Text and citations in his brother's article Louis Stokes could be used to improve this article. — Lentower (talk) 20:23, 23 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

No man can have TWO natural mothers! Information here is inconsistent...which woman is Mr. Stokes's mother? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 15.219.169.71 (talk) 16:07, 11 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Law School[edit]

Cleveland–Marshall College of Law: Cleveland State University didn't include Marshall until 1969. In the 1950s it was located where the Justice Center is now (about Ontario and E.6th St.). Since he didn't attend CSU, perhaps it would make sense to change the section stating what institutions he attended from Cleveland State to Cleveland–Marshall College of Law? Shoplifting incidents?[edit]

Just wondering why this article doesn't cover the two shoplifting incidents Carl Stokes was involved in around 1989? Not trying to tarnish the man's legacy, particularly since one incident was not prosecuted and in the other he was acquitted, but these incidents and the subsequent trial were nationally covered in the U.S. press at the time. Margin?[edit]

Paragraph 2 of the section "Career" says

Able to mobilize both black and white voters, Stokes defeated Seth Taft, the grandson of former President William Howard Taft, with a 50.5% margin.

A 50% margin would be about 75% to 25%. Is this really supposed to be "with 50.5% of the vote"? 65.185.168.216 (talk) 04:23, 27 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
