Fair use rationale for Image:Carlos Ferro Madrid1.jpg

[edit]

Image:Carlos Ferro Madrid1.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 06:08, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Arguments for deletion

[edit]

Nominated for deletion based on many factors detailed below.

The primary reason is A7. No indication of importance/notability. Specifically, it is clear this article does not meet the general notability guideline WP:CREATIVE, nor does it satisfy the requirement for multiple reliable sources independent of the subject that provide more than just a mere trivial mention. WP:V

Seems autobiographical WP:AB. For example, irrelevant name-dropping punctuates the writing, as does hyperbole like the quote, "Carlos is perhaps best known for…" I challenge the author to show he is well-known, period.

References are insufficient per WP:NOTRS 1. Bio at Argumento Films - link is dead, and it was a bio at his own site. 2. Bio at Sal website - link is dead. 3. Carlos at the IMDB - Though this is the only relevant third party link, per WP policy, IMDB is not considered a reliable source. 4. Two For a Tenner - Yes Please (Melrose Edit) - merely a link to a music video hosted on Ferro's mac.com free web page.

External links again provide no substantiation of notability and are often just repeats of references. WP:NOTRS ▪ Bio at Argumento Films - link is dead, and it was a bio at his own site, duplicate from above. ▪ Carlos Ferro at the Internet Movie Database - duplicate from above. ▪ "SAL" - link is dead, duplicate from above. ▪ Music Video "Two For a Tenner - Yes Please (Melrose Edit)" - duplicate from above. ▪ Interview on Tomopop - This laughable "interview" consists of four questions about Carlos' toy collection and makes absolutely no mention of him as "an American actor, writer, director, and producer." ▪ Carlos Ferro at Memory Alpha (a Star Trek wiki) - Minor listing mentioning his 1994 appearance in one episode of the show.

A variety of bot-generated errors have languished, unaddressed for years, pointing to the decided lack of notability.

NOTE: Author notification impossible as user no longer exists. The fact that user AFISX was only in existence to create this article further points to the autobiograhical nature of the article. WP:AB

File:CarlosFerro.png Nominated for speedy Deletion

[edit]
An image used in this article, File:CarlosFerro.png, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Copyright violations
What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request
