"He had no training in design, but he had a passion for beauty, and a matchless eye for balance and visual drama." - This sentence was taken word-for-word from this New York Times article. I have removed it. If the editors want to include this information using this language, they need to incorporate it using quotation marks. See this dispatch for advice about how to avoid this problem in the future. I would also recommend that the rest of the article be checked for similar issues. The only genuine Holbein of Henry VIII to survive The Whitehall Palace fire is a small one now in the Thyssen-B museum in Madrid; was that his? I doubt the Royal Collection thought their version was genuine at this point; it has long been recognised that all the life-size full length ones are copies of the lost original. Raphael never went near Venice, & though it is conceivable that frescos of his had been detached & moved up there, I very much doubt it. I suspect the same is true of Carracci and maybe Reni.
