70s and early 80s election results[edit]

I have added a lot of information to this article, including election results. I cannot find the election results for her runs for the Board of Education for Ward 3 in 1974 and 1978 (she won), Board of Education President in 1980 (she lost), City Council At-large in 1984 (she won), and official results for District Mayor in 1986 (she lost). If anyone can find these results, kindly add them to the article. Quacks Like a Duck (talk) 18:35, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Removed Editorial Comment/Summary Section[edit]

I removed the following from the article because they are clearly someone's point of view and not factual. Editorial opinions are inappriopriate for an encyclopedia. See WP:POV.

Ms. Schwartz is arguably one of the most well respected city officials in Washington, both by city employees, and citizens of the city, regardless of race, creed, preference(s), or political affiliation.

Mara[edit]

I'm not sure we need quite so much about Patrick Mara. Perhaps if there were an article for the 2008 DC Council races, but this is the Carol Schwartz article and it seems like undue weight. But presumably it'll be deleted after Tuesday anyway if she wins. —KCinDC (talk) 17:29, 6 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

IMO, the Schwartz-Mara primary election campaign is even more relevant now because Mara won the primary and because Schwartz is running as a write-in candidate in the general election. The primary election may have been the most notable Republican primary in the District since the 1994 Republican primary for mayor. Quacks Like a Duck (talk) 21:43, 15 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I agree it's relevant. It's just strange to have so much detail about the election relative to the rest of the article. But admittedly a lot of the D.C. politicians' articles are like that (and some is my fault). Marion Barry skips over most of his mayoral actions and concentrates on elections. Part of it is that elections are easier to write about. One problem with the election detail, as discussed before, is that some of it has to be duplicated between articles when more than one candidate has an article. I wonder again whether it might make sense to have a 2008 D.C. elections article (currently I think we have only Washington, D.C. mayoral election, 2006). —KCinDC (talk) 13:03, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
If there is sufficient information available from reliable sources to write a D.C. election article, not a stub, (and I think there usually is,) then I agree that it's worthwhile to do so. Quacks Like a Duck (talk) 20:42, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

New information needed[edit]

Carol now works for the D.C. Board of Ethics and Government Accountability after being appointed by Mayor Bowser, per this article - http://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/Bowser-Nominates-Carol-Schwartz-DC-Ethics-Board-360435941.html.

And why not include more information on or a separate section for her 2014 mayoral bid, aside from it being listed at the end of her bio of all various political races?
