a holiday? Victuallers (talk) 10:37, 15 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

i just borrowed that from Talk:Record Store Day. it might not be the best choice (for either article), but i wasn't sure how well any of those projects translated over and this was the most ambuguous. maybe albums/list would apply here now that there's a list of releases. ~ Boomur [] 11:56, 15 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I think that it is inappropriate for both articles. from holiday: A holiday is a day set aside by custom or by law on which normal activities, especially business or work, are suspended or reduced. Generally, holidays are intended to allow individuals to celebrate or commemorate an event or tradition of cultural or religious significance. Holidays may be designated by governments, religious institutions, or other groups or organizations. The degree to which normal activities are reduced by a holiday may depend on local laws, customs, the type of job being held or even personal choices. This is a days et aside by people who make this outdated technology to help sell their product. Beeblebrox (talk) 18:22, 15 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

release section

[edit]

I don't think we need an exhaustive list of every single release. Does a listing of 55 releases really add to the reader's understanding of the broader topic, or does it just provide some free publicity to these otherwise (mostly) not very notable releases? Beeblebrox (talk) 18:17, 15 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

i think the full catalogue communicates something about csd (that is, that it's mostly fueled by small, independent groups and labels), although the same thing could probably be said in prose. perhaps a bit of prose and a list of a couple of the more notable releases (flaming lips, fucked up, los campesinos, et al.) could replace the full table? ~ Boomur [] 18:45, 15 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
That sounds good. Beeblebrox (talk) 19:49, 15 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
ok, i've gone ahead and done that. should be a bit more reasonable (and sustainable) now. ~ Boomur [] 00:07, 16 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
