personal life
[edit]Note: I have added a 'personal life' section for both O'Connor and McKim following it being revealed in newspapers. See also: http://blogs.abc.net.au/offair/2009/07/green-relationship-a-dilemma-for-news-rooms.html Happy for it to be removed or rechecked if necessary. Donama (talk) 07:20, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
Shadow portfolios
[edit]The bit that lists her shadow portfolios makes absolutely no sense. Why is she, as a member of the governing coalition, a shadow minister as well as a real minister. As this information has no citation/reference can someone please explain this and provide a reference ASAP? Otherwise it will need to go. Donama (talk) 06:02, 11 November 2010 (UTC)
On second thoughts I have removed the text from the article page so it can be dealt with here first: Donama (talk) 06:05, 11 November 2010 (UTC)
- As an elected member of the Tasmanian Greens Member, O'Connor has shadow portfolio responsibility for Health (and Human Services), Environment (including Threatened Species and Coastal Policy), Tourism, Parks and Heritage, Antarctic Affairs, Women, Multicultural Affairs, Youth, and the Arts.[citation needed]
Hi Donama. Have re-entered the shadow portfolios with reference, as O'Connor has those portfolios within the Greens party room, allowing her to make media statements on those issues, and also table bills in Parliament in private members time (like the banning of plastic bags... http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2010/11/10/3062592.htm). See reference http://mps.tas.greens.org.au/greensmps/cassyoconnor/
- Cool, good. Donama (talk) 00:51, 24 June 2011 (UTC)
Have also deleted Deputy Leader statement, as O'Connor was never in this position. Reference shows that Tim Morris was elected Deputy Leader in May 2010 http://mps.tas.greens.org.au/2010/05/greens-announce-new-portfolio-distribution-new-leader/ Haulby 16:25, 23 June 2011
- As I understand it O'Connor was deputy leader in the interim from when McKim took over leadership until Tim Morris replaced her as deputy. I can't quickly get hold of a reference to show this though. Are you absolutely sure she was never deputy? Donama (talk) 00:51, 24 June 2011 (UTC)
- Yes. See last quote on this media release from McKim “I also welcome Tim Morris MP as Deputy Leader. Having this position formalised within the Party Room will assist greatly in meeting the increased workload, challenges and responsibilities which come with a power-sharing Parliament.” ... So seems there was no formal deputy position after McKim replaced Putt. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Haulby (talk • contribs) 02:20, 28 June 2011 (UTC)
- Okay, I believe you. Are you Cassy O'Connor. If so, please state it. Cheers, Donama (talk) 03:19, 28 June 2011 (UTC)
