Mouse Charater?

[edit]

What happened to the mouse charater on CatDog? He's not even listed. He was one of the main charaters. He lived in a hole in their house. This page is incomplete. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Bear199 (talkcontribs) 20:52, 27 March 2007 (UTC). You mean Winslow? He lives behind the walls. 65.43.182.46 (talk) 14:52, 20 November 2007 (UTC)Kinz[reply]

Catdog is a good

[edit]

Catdog... is a good... Are you High? Anyway, the only "Pornographic" content I can think (Off the top of my head, at any rate) is when Lube almost showed a bunch of fancy people his ass, after the Rabbit, at a fancy party, told him, as well as Catdog and the other members of his "gang" to show some Class. One memorable moment is an episode (Brother's day, or something like that) with a little song that went: "Forget about your father. Forget about your mother. Spend at least a doller, 'cuz jeepers, he's your brother"

Enough mouth-words from me. 65.96.98.74 out. 65.96.98.74 04:51, 9 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You guys are weird. I know this article is supposed to be about CatDog, and disuccion pages aren't for opinions (so I probably shouldn't put things like the fact I think CatDog is one of the creepiest shows- and not in a goo way -to ever air on Nickelodien), but does anyone else know anything about CatDog? This article seems to need some more detail... Emily 22:55, 15 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
SHUT IT!!! CatDog was awesome and you can't even rescpect about it!?! THIS IS MY THANKS FOR CATDOG BEING CANCELLED/NOT RESPECTED!?!?!? I HATE you!!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.243.23.219 (talk) 22:59, 16 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Dates?

[edit]

Original run to 2004 or "It was cancelled by Nickelodeon in 2001"?

It was cancelled in 2001, but they continued to show old episodes--Ecwnet 16:41, 14 July 2006 (UTC) Which is true?[reply]

Tense

[edit]

The tense was unclear, so I have been bold and made CatDog plural. ¿ςפקι<fonkt color="green">ДИτς! 02:55, 7 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Early on

[edit]

Before the show was announced on Nick as a "new dog cat show" with no preview scenes until the pilot after the Kid's Choice Awards in April 1998, it was briefly "leaked" on Nickelodeon Magazine as a simple picture of the Catdog character in a side vertical advertisement of a Nicktoons soundtrack CD some months prior to it's first ever airing (though the title was not shown). Anything to note about this? Leileilol 23:02, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect broadcast dates

[edit]

It says in the Infobox that CatDog first premiered on Oct. 4, 1998, but in the article itself it says it premiered on Oct. 5, 1998. Someone please check this out.70.3.98.109 02:48, 23 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A source that could be used: Jerry Beck's Not Just Cartoons: Nicktoons!

[edit]

I found a book in the bookstore called Not Just Cartoons: Nicktoons! by Jerry Beck. I'm not going to buy it and join the project, but I will ask the other members to get the book so that they can add real world information about various fictional characters.

This makes the creation of separate articles for *many* fictional characters feasible. Having information about the development of the character will make the articles satisfy Wikipedia:Notability (fiction) WhisperToMe (talk) 20:44, 27 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Porky in Wackyland

[edit]

There is an old Porky Pig cartoon, and a character quite similar to Catdog appears about 3:20 into it. The big difference is that these two are almost always fighting. Josh-Levin@ieee.org (talk) 20:26, 14 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Why this?

[edit]

An editor used this passage as a part of the reception segment: --->CatDog was reviewed at commonsensemedia. It was advised for children aged 7 and up, and was given a score of 2/5 stars. It was described as "iffy", one of the reasons cited as being due to "some bad role models". When they say iffy, they mean that the "Dog," which is a beagle/pit bull mix, got more exposure then his "Cat" half. The review continued to say that, "Parents need to know that kids will probably laugh their heads off at the silliness of a creature with a cat at one end of its body and a dog at the other. But parents may find they're not in on the joke. While there's no harm done here, the amount of cartoon mayhem and absurdity leaves little reason for parents to have kids tune in regularly...The series makes some attempts at injecting a moral here or there, but they fall flat. The focus is on looniness, silliness, and out-of-control antics, with very little in the way of redeeming qualities. This can be just the ticket for some kids, although the bizarreness of the concept is enough to leave most parents shaking their heads."[8]

Aside from commonsensemedia being an odd choice for reception, why the bit about Dog being "part beagle/pit bull", and why is it "iffy" that he gets more attention than Cat (even if that were a fact)?

Dog isn't a beagle/pit bull mix. He looks nothing like a pit bull, and only slightly like a beagle; he looks (to the extent that he resembles any real dog) like an American Foxhound, as it says at the beginning of the article. And I'm assuming the "iffy" comment has to do with the rest of the review, which as far as I concerned says more about commonsensemedia than it does about CatDog: namely, that commonsensemedia has a stick where Dog has Cat. CatDog isn't VeggieTales, but then it wasn't trying to be, and the overall moral of "you can be friends with people who aren't exactly like you" comes across pretty strongly in most episodes. Again, the fact that commonsensemedia doesn't like this speaks volumes. I think the theme lyrics pretty much sum up the show: "Gotta rise above it, gotta try to get along, gotta walk together, gotta sing this song."
