Fair use rationale for Image:Wegies.PNG

[edit]

Image:Wegies.PNG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

First year of publication errors?

[edit]

I don't know where alot of people got their sources but the November 2008 issue has an article called "Through the Years" that says Cat Fancy was first published in 1965 (it says nothing about 1951). Obviously someone has bad information.TomCat4680 (talk) 12:18, 14 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Good job - don't hesitate to remove unsourced information, especially if you have references which contradict it. The "1951" date was added by 71.235.200.162, who also added the list of editors without a reference. Regards, HaeB (talk) 17:17, 14 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
How can someone be editor from 1951-1959 is the first issue was 1965? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.197.64.156 (talk) 10:20, 14 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Controversy

[edit]

I think it's fair to give a magazine with nearly 50 years of publication the benefit of the doubt. I'm posting this controversy section on the talk page and as soon as it's sourced, it should go back up.Mcoogan75 (talk) 08:31, 23 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Controversy

[edit]

The August 2008 issue of Cat Fancy featured a Javanese on the cover and a profile of the breed. The issue was scheduled to be on newsstands from July 2, 2008 until August 12, 2008 when it would be replaced with the September 2008 issue. On the July 22, 2008 episode of CBS’s The Early Show, Susan Logan, current Cat Fancy Editor, announced that the magazine would be pulled from shelves earlier due to ownership conflicts on certain articles and pictures. The issue was removed from newsstands 2 weeks earlier than planned before a September issue could be readied for distribution. [citation needed]

If you can find a non-copyvio clip of the interview from The Early Show, that's a reliable source. TomCat4680 (talk) 20:12, 23 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Should article be renamed to Catster?

[edit]

As the publication is named Catster now, should this page be renamed and then have a redirect for folks who search for Cat Fancy? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gbem419 (talkcontribs) 21:10, 4 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
