Expand, please!

[edit]

I created this article, and think that I have probably taken it as far as I can. However, Kingboyk suggested (see this archive page) that it might not take much work to bring it to Good Article standard, and I can see that with a few more references and some photographs, it could get there. So I have tagged it for expansion.

It would be great if someone had the energy and inclination to expand it a little bit further. Cathcart Wason is a fascinating character, and it'd be great to see more detail on his story. --BrownHairedGirl 10:14, 8 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Done - it only took 4 years! Yes, interesting chap. It's a long way off GA in my opinion, though. I've put it up to C class now and others might want to check this against B class criteria (I don't have a problem with calling it C, as it's certainly way beyond Start class, but one could argue that I don't have WP:NPOV when it comes to assessing this against B). Year of birth

[edit]

The following was in the article as a comment:

date of birth unclear: available sources list it as "1848 or 1849". I think that it's better to categorise under both years than under unknown or missing, but maybe someone can devise a better solution. If so, please note it on the talk page for this article. BrownHairedGirl, 11th April 2006

There's also now a reference in the article to a specific birth date. So I've removed one of the years, noting though that the Dictionary of New Zealand Biography article is one of the sources that shows 1848/49 as the birth year. Schwede66 21:31, 31 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
