Inconsistencies regarding the engine

[edit]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

The article mentions the fact that the CR.714 was making use of the Renault 12R inline engine. However after some research into the engine, it appears to be in fact an air-cooled inverted V-12 engine developed by Renault. This page (FR) goes through the engine in detail, and it is pretty obvious that it is in fact an air-cooled inverted V-12 engine both from the pictures and the description.

In the site, a picture of the frame of the CR.714 with its engine removed is also present, and it's clear that the engine itself only makes up about half of the elongated nose of the aircraft. Its length was therefore clearly a design choice rather than a consequence of the choice of engine.

Regards,
