Is this supposed to be Suriname or French Guiana

[edit]

It is unclear whether this is refering to Dutch Guiana or French Guiana, and we have articles on both of them. It is unclear how this fits into the history of the area, and lacks any references which may help tie it in... --Jayron32 06:12, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It's a former Dutch (or Dutch West Indies Co.) colony in what is now French Guiana. I'm just mining nl.wiki for basic content right now, but I plan to expand it with some proper references once I get a body of basic inter-wikied content. MatthewVanitas (talk) 06:15, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the clarification. It gets a little sketchy and confusing, since I Guyana-Guiana-Cayenne are all basically the same word, so it becomes unclear WHICH part of the greater Guyana area is being discussed here. I just wanted to make sure that this wasn't duplicating some topic, like History of French Guiana, which is already at Wikipedia. --Jayron32 06:21, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
