Distinct article

[edit]

I believe that this topic is important enough to justify a separate article. I have taken some material from the cellular senescence sections of senescence, and added additional material and citations. I am not finished modifying this page. --Ben Best:Talk 17:17, 3 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Good job. Today I am trying to further improve the page by changing the first sentence. The first sentence is/was not true and contains a non-word that I believe can throw off some readers. Cellular senescence is not "the" phenomenon by which normal "ploid" cells cease to divide. It is not "the" phenomenon, but one of a few. Furthermore, "-ploid" is not a word, it is a suffix and I think it makes the sentence choppy and could throw readers off. It's just not needed in the very first sentence. I also intend to included a link to the WP entry for Apoptosis under the "See also" section. Please polish and expand on this as you see fit. Thanks.Jess (talk) 03:58, 29 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Overall, I think the article is a good starting point to build on for more thorough information. It does provide some good content on certain topics that are supported by good secondary sources. Some aspects could use a little more information or more sources. Grammar needs some improvement at first sight. Mnaas2016 (talk) 02:28, 30 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

In your last section under Organisms Lacking Senescence, there is only a single sentence that matches with the title of the topic. Could you add more information about those organisms and maybe why their cells don't undergo senescence. Additional information before ending by talking about organisms who's cells undergo senescence. GnaeusMuciusMarius (talk) 04:05, 12 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I revised the entire page in sections. If the original creator or anyone else wants to revert these changes or disagrees with any of these changes feel free to revert. Great foundation, I just thought some sentences needed rewording for more clarity. Mnaas2016 (talk) 16:22, 15 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
