Why "About the Pope" section?

This article is a mess. The main problem is the long section About the Pope. Why is this even here when the guy has an entire article to himself? This section should be trimmed to a sentence or two plus the {{Main}} link. Other problems are that the Synopsis section is too long and the Principles section needs wikifying. Later. I have wikified and tidied the whole thing. Unless somebody does this before me, I will come back in a week and delete the section About the Pope. The article still has serious problems, but I can not fix them (nor do I care). HairyWombat 17:20, 21 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
