Dec. 2015 -- Moslem rebels declare an autonomous state in the north.

"A Muslim rebel leader in Central African Republic proclaimed an autonomous state in the country's north Tuesday just days after threatening violence against those voting on a constitutional referendum meant to usher in stability."

"The declaration by rebel leader Noureddine Adam comes only two weeks after Pope Francis visited the troubled nation of 4.8 million and called for reconciliation among its rival Muslim and Christian militias..."

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to 2 external links on Central African Republic. Please take a moment to review my edit. You may add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it, if I keep adding bad data, but formatting bugs should be reported instead. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether, but should be used as a last resort. I made the following changes:

Does CAR has a capital city?

Does this country have a capital city? If so, how come it is not listed under the "country outline" with a link to it??

It's listed as Bangui in the infobox. Rhydic (talk) 23:25, 4 January 2017 (UTC)

What does "Independent RCA" mean?

It's frustrating when abbreviations like this are used without an explanation. G00gling turned up nothing useful, since there are several dozens of different meanings for RCA, and adding "independent" in front of it, with or without citation marks, didn't help.

Protestant Missions?

I've added a citation needed tag to the reference to protestant missions in French Equatorial Africa. While it may be true, I can find no reference to them elsewhere and it seems counterintuitive considering that most of France is Catholic. Please revert the change if I'm mistaken in making this change. kev. (talk) 19:51, 15 February 2019 (UTC)

Why no short name?

Almost every other country on Earth has a shorthand name, even Czechia has officially been adopted for the Czech Republic recently. Why is there no short name for CAR such as “Central Africa” or something. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:C7F:1425:8B00:151B:A142:C17C:69C7 (talk) 23:08, 29 November 2019 (UTC)

Samoa is the poorest in GDP along with Tuvalu.

Samoa, with a bit less than CAR, is the 2nd poorest along with Tuvalu, being the poorest Samoa. Also Somalia has an HDI of 0.299. --Uygurche (talk) 02:35, 2 May 2020 (UTC)

map error

hey, looks like Eritrea is missing from the map being used in the infobox (https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Central_African_Republic_(orthographic_projection).svg) Twoveganpasties (talk) 15:33, 10 November 2020 (UTC)

Map shows Eritrea as part of Ethiopia

The part of the article that shows a map where the CAR is highlighted in green shows Eritrea as part of Ethiopia. Why is this? I would fix it myself but I don’t really know how to do stuff with images and media since mainly do minor edits to text. Lettuce Spice (talk) 12:47, 17 January 2022 (UTC)

This is a longstanding problem with quite a few orthographic maps. I've raised it on Commons before, but no takers. CMD (talk) 14:54, 17 January 2022 (UTC)
@Lettuce Spice and Chipmunkdavis: I have uploaded an equivalent map, i.e. one that is based on the stable version, but without the obvious error. M.Bitton (talk) 16:03, 17 January 2022 (UTC)
