I'm undoubtedly biased, but I consider this rating too low. What's missing that is necessary to put it in Class B? -- Bill-on-the-Hill 04:58, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There is no mention at all in the article about the possible release into the atmosphere of burned nuclear waste, which was a huge news issue during the fire and the months afterward. Hamiltondaniel 07:05, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Only on the part of people who know nothing of either the fire or nuclear waste. If that's the only impediment to having this as Class B, then it's Class B. -- Bill-on-the-Hill (talk) 22:20, 11 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The article has no references; that alone is enough to hold it back to start class. --Una Smith (talk) 21:11, 29 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I wouldn't mind some serious NPOV pruning. This reads like a passionate high school girl's attempt at turgid dramatic prose. Is this an Oprah transcript or Wikipedia? Tom NM (talk) 11:00, 30 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bark Beetles

[edit]

I would like to add one of my personal aftermath memories, but I feel that I was too young at the time to be considered an adequate reference, so I'll put it here.

The summer after the fire, the town was plagued by bark beetles, which came through and killed, among other things, several of my family's fruit trees. I had always heard the bark beetles attributed to the abundance of dead wood in the mountains for them to breed in. Does anyone else have something more verifiable we could put in?

As far as I can tell, none of the reference links are valid - all of them lead to 404 pages for me. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.126.136.52 (talk) 19:57, 21 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
