Bad machine translation[edit]

I got most of the low-hanging fruit, I think, but given the mistranslations I found, should be further scrutinized and compared to the original in greater detail. It could do with some expansion as the topic is clearly notable and additional sources no doubt exist. The references also need improving, at least as to format, although the ones I sampled looked legit. I am reasonably happy with the English, and consider that a good stopping place, as there are other things I should be doing. It will be on my list of articles to come back to, but I don't know how soon that will happen and if someone else adopts it then yay. Elinruby (talk) 01:13, 20 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

just realized that I didn't nail down the translation of "claveau"; it is some kind of stone block around the windows. Elinruby (talk) 01:18, 20 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. I'll have a look over it in the next day or two. I'm no expert, but I think the English term for claveau is "voussoir"!

Thanks. Re expansion, there is a lot of genealogy, but several of the people mentioned are individually notable and probably have or should have their own articles, at least on fr.wiki; feel free to ping me with questions or comments, but my to-do list is already long and you can probably do this more justice than I can right now. So thanks, and thanks for the vocabulary word. I wind up doing a lot of machine-translated chateaux articles because I can, more or less, but don't have any architectural background. If you like those I can start pinging you on them if you want Elinruby (talk) 02:19, 20 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
