Name[edit]

Some confusion over the name of this castle. The article, and the castle's website, refer to Château de Vixouze) while the Ministry of Culture (the official reference for national monuments) refers to Château de Vixouges. They are undoubtedly the same structure. For consistency, I have edited the article to use the MofC designation throughout, but it would be useful if someone could find a definitive title or some explanation for the discrepancy. Castles in England can have several different names, without any being incorrect. Peveril Castle for instance has been referred to as Peveril, Peak, Pechefers, Pechesers, Peak's Arse, Peverel's, Castleton, Castle of the Peke. On top of that, it is common for the name of the family that owned the castle to be spelt Peverel [1]. I would imagine the same applies to France, and Vixouze is reasonably close to Vixouges. As long as you're consistent with naming in the article (an give the alternative in a prominent place such as the opening sentence) I think it's fine. And I'd recommend that whichever spelling you don't use you establish as a redirect. Nev1 (talk) 20:40, 11 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
